Meridian Teleradiology Radiology Workflow
When an image is taken at a Meridian-affiliated facility, it is sent to us through our own proprietary gateways, which we set up on site. Our workflow software then routes your image to the most qualified radiologist based on your preferences, his or her specialization, credentials and workload capacity (how busy he or she is at that time).

Our radiologists then perform a preliminary evaluation of the scan and dictate a written report. The patient data and report are sent back to the originating facility, and if the evaluation requires immediate attention, the facility and/or local physician may be contacted to discuss the findings. If the evaluation does not require immediate attention, the scan undergoes a final evaluation the following morning by your local radiologist. If there is a critical finding, the hospital is called immediately to discuss and take action.

For Final Interpretations, the process is much the same. We will supply the Final report so the local radiologist does not have to do it the next morning.

Our Systems:

All of Meridian's systems are built to ensure the efficient and secure movement of your patient data. We employ a fully redundant LAN/WAN network infrastructure. Since our inception, we have had an uptime percentage of 99.9%. We also utilize fully redundant, web hosting image management and report distribution services.

Implementation
During implementation, Meridian works closely with your facility's staff to define and implement the network technology that is optimal for your site. Hospitals can use what is likely already in place, such as:

• Dicom routing and transmition hardware & software allows easy management and trouble shooting of connectivity between your facility and our readers.
• A high-speed connection to the Internet to transport images to the reading centers. Typically this can be achieved through utilizing the existing Internet connection of the hospital.
• A technical contact person to assist us during the implementation.
• Credentialing assistance from the radiology group will also help to expedite the implementation process.

HIPAA Compliance
Meridian is 100% HIPAA compliant in all of our medical and administrative procedures. We are also able to work with your other providers to ensure your patient's information is protected all the way along the chain.
